Raid Shadow Legends Early Game FAQ
Getting Started
Which starter Champion should I choose?
Kael, as he is the highest rated starter Champion.
Should I invest in the gem mine?
If you will be playing for more than 100 days, then yes.
Should I invest in the Sparring Pit?
This one’s a bit more controversial. The Sparring Pit is a good way to level up Champions while you’re idle, but it’s also rather costly. In the very long term it will probably pay off, but it’s not straightforward. In the early game, we recommend spending your gems on other things (shards and energy) rather than the sparring pit.
Should I buy packs from the store?
Depends. Some are good value and some are bad. Check our deal calculator first before buying. One of the best value packs is the Daily Gem Pack, so if you want to get a single thing I’d recommend that one. Don’t buy anything from the “Packs” or “Bank” sections of the store – the packs (“Daily & Progression” and “Limited Special Offers”) are MUCH better value.
Should I buy anything at the Gem Shop?
Early on, get the “Big Shard Pack” for 900 gems which comes to roughly 82 gems / Ancient Shard, and build your roster. Later on, gems are generally best spent on energy. Other stuff in the Gem Shop (XP Boost, CB keys, potions) are quite situational and generally not worth buying unless you need them for a specific case.
Should I buy stuff in the Market?
Always buy Ancient shards. Also always buy Mystery Shards (they’re useful to help you complete Champion Chase and Summon events). Generally speaking, it’s better not to spend silver on other stuff that’s in the Market.
Should I pull my shards now?
Generally speaking, it’s better to wait for summoning boosts (x2 or x10) before opening your shards, as well as Champion Chase or Summon events so you maximize your rewards. Also, check out our Summoning Simulators before you summon live to get out the jitters!
Should I join a clan?
Absolutely! Not only is it fun and social to be in a clan (or not, up to you…), it’s particularly important in order to maximize rewards from the Clan Boss, which to this day continues to be one of the areas in the game with the best potential rewards.
Champions
Who are the best Champions in the game {for area XYZ}?
Check out our Champions rating index to find the best Champions in Raid Shadow Legends by area.
What auras work in {area}?
To find auras that work for the area you want, check out the Skills index.
What masteries should I put on my Champion?
Recommended masteries will depend on the Champion’s skills and utility. Most Champion detail pages on Inteleria have mastery recommendations, but don’t follow them blindly. Think about what you want to achieve with a certain Champion and pick masteries that help you achieve that. We also have a mastery simulator so you can view all masteries and play around before picking them in the game.
Should I pick Warmaster or Giant Slayer?
Depends on the Champion’s expected # of hits. You can find a recommendation on every Champion details page, and an overall recommendation list of WM vs. GS.
Should I sacrifice {Champion} for food?
If it’s a Legendary, DO NOT SACRIFICE IT. Doesn’t matter if it’s currently a bad Lego, it may get buffed during a rebalance, so DO NOT feed it to another Champion for a level up. Patience will reward you.
If it’s an Epic or Rare, it largely depends on whether you need it and have duplicates. Generally I wouldn’t recommend sacrificing Epic Void Champions as those are particularly hard to get.
