Blessings are a powerful new system added in Patch 6.0 with the Champion Awakening feature. After fully Ascending a champion (Rank 6) and awakening it, you obtain its Champion Soul and can equip a single Blessing. Each Blessing grants unique passive or triggered effects that “completely transform how a Champion performs” in battle.
What Are Blessings in Raid Shadow Legends
Blessings are special passive abilities tied to Champion Awakening. When you awaken a champion (rare or above), you can choose one Blessing for it. A Blessing remains active in all battles until you swap it out. It can greatly enhance a champion’s kit. Only one Blessing can be equipped at a time per champion.

How Blessings Work
- Awakening Requirement: Champions must be fully Ascended and awakened to at least Level 1 to access Blessings.
- One Blessing Limit: Each champion can equip exactly one Blessing. Swapping Blessings is allowed.
- Scaling with Awakening Level: Every Blessing has 6 levels, which scale with the champion’s Awakening level. A champion at Awakening Level n receives Level n effects of its Blessing automatically.
- Lower-Rarity Bonus Stats: If a champion equips a Blessing of lower rarity than itself, it gains extra stats at certain levels.
Blessing Rarities and Divinities
Each Blessing belongs to one of five Divinities – Light, Dark, War, Chaos, or Harmony – and comes in Rare, Epic, or Legendary rarity. The Divinity determines the Blessing’s theme (Light often heals/buffs, Dark often debuffs, Chaos often damage, etc.), while rarity determines who can use it. Rare champions can only equip Rare Blessings; Epic champions can use Rare or Epic; Legendary/Mythical champs can use Rare, Epic, or Legendary. In total there are about 30 Blessings split among the 5 Divinities.
Below the Divinities, each Blessing provides a unique effect. Some permanently boost stats (HP, ATK, DEF, ACC, RES) at certain levels, while others apply crowd-control or damage effects in battle. Because they depend on awakening, Blessings are only usable by Rare and higher champions.
How to Get Blessings in Raid Shadow Legends
Awakening and Soul Essence
To unlock Blessings, you must Awaken champions. Awakening requires Champion Souls obtained from the Altar of Souls. Two main steps are involved:
- Collect Champion Souls: Use Soulstones (Mystic Shop with Soul Coins) or the Soul Merchant (in exchange for Soul Essence) to gather Perfect or Split Champion Souls for a specific champion. A Perfect Soul awakens the champion to the exact level shown. A Split Soul Awakens the champion one level at a time.
- Soulstones vs. Soul Merchant: Soulstones (Mortal, Immortal, Eternal) are purchased with Soul Coins in the Mystic Shop and only produce Perfect Souls. The Soul Merchant trades Soul Essence for 1★ Perfect or 2★–6★ Split Souls.
- Awaken Your Champion: When you have the necessary souls, go to the Altar of Souls, select your champion, and apply the souls to awaken it.
Matching Champion Souls and Rarity Limits
Champion Souls are specific to each champion. You can only awaken that champion with its own Soul. Crucially, the champion’s rarity caps which Blessings it can use. In practice:
- Rarity Limits: A Rare champion can only equip Rare Blessings; an Epic champion can use Rare or Epic Blessings; and Legendary/Mythical champions can use any rarity.
- Ascension Cap: Champions cannot awaken beyond their ascension rank. For example, a Rare champion (ascendable to Rank 4) cannot reach Awakened Level 6. Epic champions can reach higher Awakening levels, and Legendary up to Level 6, unlocking the final Blessing tier effects.
- Champion Souls Stars: Champion souls have star values (1★–6★) indicating Awakening levels. Higher-star souls awaken more levels at once. Collecting higher-level souls (especially 5★ or 6★) dramatically speeds up Awakening.
Best Blessings by Role
Choosing the right Blessing often depends on the champion’s role and the content. Below are some top Blessings for different roles:
Damage Dealers (PvE and PvP)
Damage-focused champions benefit from Blessings that boost offense or debilitate enemies:
- Cruelty (Epic Chaos): Each hit decreases enemy DEF (up to 40%). Great for sustained damage in Clan Boss and Dungeons. One champion with Cruelty can reduce boss DEF significantly over time.
- Crushing Rend (Epic Chaos): Causes multiple hits to ignore a portion of enemy DEF. Exceptionally strong vs high-DEF targets (e.g. Hydra boss).
- Phantom Touch (Rare Dark): Procs bonus hit damage on attacks. Good for burst damage in Clan Boss, Doom Tower, etc.
- Brimstone (Legendary Chaos): Attacks place a Smite debuff that periodically deals massive AoE damage based on HP. Excellent on high-HP champions against bosses.
- Soul Reap (Legendary War): After dropping an enemy below a HP threshold, a Reaper appears and deals extra finishing damage, ignoring DEF.
- Lightning Cage (Legendary Light): Builds up Lightning Orb stacks when enemies buff themselves or fill turn meter, then releases bonus damage when enough stacks accumulate. Great on multi-hit/continuous attackers.
Support and Utility Champions
Support champions often equip Blessings that bolster the team or disable enemies:
- Intimidating Presence (Legendary Light): Increases your team’s Aura effects and weakens enemies’ Auras.
- Commanding Presence (Epic War): Strengthens the team’s Aura by a smaller amount. Use this on one key support champion to free up other champions for damage Blessings.
- Emergency Heal (Rare Chaos): Heals the champion whenever one of their Shields expires. Useful for shield-based supports/tanks.
- Miracle Heal (Rare Light): Heals an ally whenever they heal themselves.
- Polymorph (Legendary Chaos): Whenever an enemy applies a debuff or steals a buff from this champion, that enemy is turned to “Sheep” for 2 turns.
- Neutralize (Epic Harmony) and Nourish/Nature’s Bounty (Rare Harmony): Generally, Harmony Blessings provide extra healing or debuff removal on kills.
Defensive and Sustain Champions
Champions focused on survivability or protecting the team will use Blessings that mitigate damage or provide sustain:
- Faultless Defense (Rare War): Reflects a percentage of incoming damage back to attackers when the ally is under a DEF buff.
- Ward of the Fallen (Legendary Dark): Grants Bone Armor stacks at the start of each round that absorb a hit, and deals extra bonus damage based on fallen allies.
- Miracle Heal (Rare Light) and Emergency Heal (Rare Chaos): Both provide burst healing in different ways (self-heal or shield triggers).
- Iron Will (Epic Light) and Dark Resolve (Rare Dark): (Not cited above) Iron Will reduces damage from debuffs, Dark Resolve boosts damage when allies die – niche uses.
- Life Harvest (Legendary War): Destroys revived enemies’ HP when they revive. Useful against teams with many revivers (e.g. Doom Tower or Arena with Siphi teams).
- Chainbreaker (Epic War): Chance to auto-remove crowd-control debuffs or gain turn meter when debuffed.
Legendary vs. Epic Blessings – Which Are Worth It
Legendary and Epic Blessings require higher-rarity Champions to equip (Epic for Epics, Legendary for Legendaries). Because Blessing Souls are precious, focus on top-tier Blessings:
Best Legendary Blessings
- Intimidating Presence (Light): The strongest aura Blessing, boosting your entire team’s Auras while weakening enemies’.
- Lightning Cage (Light): Excellent for attackers that repeatedly hit and for Arena buff-heavy teams.
- Brimstone (Chaos): Designed for high-HP champions vs bosses. The Smite debuff deals huge damage on a cooldown.
- Soul Reap (War): A damage-finisher Blessing. The Soul Reaper hits when targets drop below a threshold, ignoring DEF.
- Ward of the Fallen (Dark): Grants up to 3 Bone Armor stacks per round (each blocking a hit) and bonus ATK-based damage.
- Polymorph (Chaos): Powerful in PvP. Enemies that debuff you become sheep (huge CC).
Best Epic Blessings
Epic Blessings are strong and often easier to use (Epic champions can equip Rare/Epic). Key Epics include:
- Cruelty (Chaos Epic): top DPS Blessing for boss teams.
- Crushing Rend (Chaos Epic): top DPS vs tanky bosses.
- Commanding Presence (War Epic): Boosts all Aura stats by 35% at max level.
- Natures Wrath (Harmony Epic): Grants bonus damage after an enemy gets hit by a debuff.
- Iron Will (Light Epic): Reduces incoming debuff damage (more useful early game).
- Miracle Heal (Light Rare) and Emergency Heal (Chaos Rare)
- Lightning Cage (Light Legendary): Though Legendary, mention it’s on many Epic champions’ radar once they go Legendary.
Rare Blessings Worth Using
Rare Blessings are generally weaker, but a few see use in niche builds:
- Hero’s Soul (War Rare): Increases damage to bosses based on number of living allies. Useful when fighting many minions or in early progress vs multiple mobs (e.g. Spider’s Den). Rare champs can use this to boost damage, but Epic/Legend champs usually have better options.
- Faultless Defense (War Rare): Reflects a portion of damage back on attackers while an ally has an Increase-DEF buff. Valuable in some tank-heavy or Fire Knight strategies.
- Dark Resolve (Dark Rare): Scales with fallen allies (good for Phoenix army or niche Arena comps).
- Miracle Heal (Light Rare): Small heal triggers on ally heals.
- Nourish / Nature’s Bounty (Harmony Rare): Stat-boosts on kill or HP thresholds (rarely seen but can help sustain).
- Indomitable Spirit, Emergency Heal, etc.: Usually low priority unless you specifically need their effect.
Choosing the Right Blessing for Your Champion
Consider Role and Game Mode: Match Blessings to what your champion and team need. For example, high-Atk champions for Clan/Dungeon bosses excel with Cruelty or Brimstone. Champions that deal multiple hits (or are in buff-heavy fights) love Lightning Cage. PvP/Arena teams often use Intimidating Presence and Polymorph. Champions who rely on shields/heals should look at Emergency Heal or Miracle Heal.
Avoid Redundancy: Don’t stack the same aura Blessing on multiple champions. Only one Intimidating Presence or Commanding Presence takes effect per team. Instead, give your secondary supports a damage Blessing and let one main support carry the aura. Likewise, if two champions have the same non-aura Blessing, you’re wasting Souls and stats – diversify their Blessings to cover different needs.
Upgrade and Swap Options: Remember, swapping Blessings is easy (first swap free, then costs Gems). Experiment freely with different Blessings on a champion until you find the best fit. Keep in mind that you can upgrade a Blessing’s level simply by raising the champion’s Awakening – you don’t need a new Soul. When powerful new champions join your roster, you can always swap Blessings around. In fact, the guide recommends putting Commanding Presence on just one main support so you can “equip many champions with damage-boosting Blessings to improve overall team damage”. This kind of planning saves resources long-term.
Tips for Using Blessings Effectively
- Combine with Gear and Masteries: Blessings complement your gear and masteries. If a champion has a healing focus, Blessings that enhance healing or provide defensive buffs are ideal. Always aim for synergy: e.g., a champion built for Counterattack and speed can make excellent use of Lightning Cage or Ward of the Fallen.
- Prioritize Key Champions: Focus Blessing Souls on your core champions first – those you use in your best teams (Clan Boss nukers, Hydra cleaveers, Arena carries). Awakening and blessing secondary or collectors can wait.
- Save Souls for Top-Tier Units: Use your Soulstones and Essence judiciously. Don’t waste 6★ Perfect Souls on unimportant champions. Save large Awakening Souls for champions that will see long-term use.
- Experiment and Adapt: Content changes, and so does the meta. Feel free to swap Blessings when a new boss or champion comes out.
Conclusion
Blessings add a powerful new dimension to champion customization. By awakening your champions and choosing the right Blessings, you can significantly boost their performance. Mid- and late-game players should study each champion’s kit and role to pick Blessings that amplify their strengths or cover their weaknesses.
