Raid Keep Drop Rates
Manibal’s drop rate video is full of gems. Among others, we find out about the dreaded drop rates in the potion keeps (Magic, Force, Spirit, and Void keeps). So often you grind those suckers only to find yourself pulling lesser potions. Well it’s no longer a mystery – here are the exact drop rates for everything in the keeps:
Drop | Rate% |
7 Lesser Potions | 27.5% |
8 Lesser Potions | 16.5% |
9 Lesser Potions | 11.0% |
1 Greater Potion | 6.9% |
2 Greater Potions | 6.9% |
3 Greater Potions | 4.6% |
4 Greater Potions | 3.5% |
5 Greater Potions | 1.2% |
1 Superior Potion | 4.8% |
2 Superior Potions | 4.2% |
3 Superior Potions | 3.0% |
Ancient Shard | 0.5% |
Brews | 6.7% |
Mystery Shards (4-5) | 2.9% |
Breaking down the data a bit, we find the following:
- There is a 55% chance of getting lesser potions
- There is a 23% chance of getting greater potions
- There is a 12% chance of getting superior potions
Superior potions are the most coveted once you’re at the point where you’re ascending only Epics and Legendaries, as you’ll need tons of potions to get those to 6 stars of ascension.
If you’re loaded on greater potions and looking to get more superior potions, you may be wondering if it’s better to farm keeps or better to mix 10 greater potions, pay up the 100k silver, and get yourself the superiors. Given that there is a 12% chance of getting superior potions when farming keeps you can expect to get a superior potion drop every 8.3 runs (100 energy). And since on average when you get a superior potion you’ll get 1.85 (weighing the drop rates of 1, 2, and 3 superior potions), that’s the expected rate per 100 energy. 1.85 superior potions would cost 185000 (if it was possible to get fractions of potions), so the question is whether we can make 185k silver with 100 energy elsewhere, and the answer is a resounding “YES”. By farming Spider 20, you can expect an average of about 60-80k / round if you assume you sell every accessory. With 100 energy (6.25 runs) you’d net ~437,500 (we’re ignoring the silver drops in keeps vs. spider for simplicity, but the argument goes even more so in favor of Spider running if we include the silver drop).
In summary, farming the Spider will give you more silver than the silver equivalent of the Superior potions you’re expected to get farming keeps, so if you have enough Greater potions you’re better off farming Spider and mixing the Greater potions to make Superior potions.
