The Eternal Dragon fight is not a normal damage race. To win consistently, you must control skill cooldowns, kill the Eternal Priest at the right time, stop the Guards from protecting and healing the boss, and bring support champions who still work when their active skills are locked.
Quick answer
The safest way to beat Eternal Dragon
Keep Decrease ATK on the boss, use passive healing or a high-Resistance cleanser, and target the Eternal Priest first. Killing the Priest resets your team’s skill cooldowns. If possible, clear the Guards before the boss consumes one and heals. Geomancer or Drexthar can supply reliable damage, while Jareg, Doompriest, Vrask, Vogoth, Scyl of the Drakes, and Underpriest Brogni cover survival.
If you own Warlord, Yumeko, or Basher, an Increase Enemy Cooldown strategy can delay the boss’s most dangerous skills.
Target order: Eternal Priest → Eternal Guards → Eternal Dragon. If your team cannot kill the Guards quickly, return to the boss after killing the Priest and make sure your damage exceeds the healing from Consume Soul.
Boss mechanics
Why the Eternal Dragon fight becomes dangerous
The Eternal Dragon, also called Iragoth, appears in the second Doom Tower rotation. The fight revolves around active-skill cooldowns. The boss can lock your skills, put them on cooldown, gain Turn Meter from those cooldowns, and then deal more damage based on the number of cooldown turns remaining across your team.
| Mechanic | What it does | How to answer it |
|---|---|---|
| Spike Storm | AoE attack that places Block Active Skills for one turn. | Use Resistance, Block Debuffs, passive cleansing, and champions whose healing does not depend entirely on active skills. |
| Spirit Rush | AoE attack that gains 20% bonus damage for every turn remaining on your team’s skill cooldowns. Champions with no skills on cooldown can receive Fear. | Reset your cooldowns by killing the Eternal Priest, keep Decrease ATK active, and avoid wasting long-cooldown skills. |
| Soul Burst | Puts your active skills on cooldown and fills the boss’s Turn Meter for the cooldown turns it adds. | Use a high-Resistance support core or control the boss with Increase Enemy Cooldown. |
| Eternal Priest | If consumed, it resets the boss’s skills and gives the boss an Extra Turn. If you kill it, your team’s skill cooldowns are reset. | Make the Priest your first target whenever it appears. |
| Eternal Guards | Reduce AoE damage taken by allies by 75%. A consumed Guard heals the boss by 15% of MAX HP. | Prefer focused single-target damage and remove the Guards when your team has enough damage. |
| Eternal Rage | If Conjure Souls summons only one minion or none, the boss gains more Speed and can ignore defensive effects, Shields, and part of your DEF. | Do not leave the add cycle half-finished. Clear the minions before the next summon whenever possible. |
Important: the boss is immune to Turn Meter reduction, Decrease SPD, Poison, Heal Reduction, crowd control, Fear, and Block Active Skills. However, Increase Enemy Cooldown can work.
Battle plan
How to beat Eternal Dragon step by step
Save key skills during the waves
Reach the boss with Decrease ATK, healing, cleansing, and protection skills available. If Auto wastes those skills on the second wave, use team presets or take manual control before the boss round.
Place Decrease ATK first
This is the most important defensive debuff for a sustain team. Jareg is especially useful because he can apply it with his A1, which remains available when active skills are locked.
Switch targets immediately
As soon as the Eternal Priest appears, focus it down. Its death resets your team’s cooldowns and prevents the boss from consuming it for an immediate reset and Extra Turn.
Use single-target damage
The Guards heavily reduce AoE damage. Kill them individually if you can do it before Consume Soul. Otherwise, return damage to the boss and prepare to overcome the 15% heal.
Do not press every skill
Spirit Rush becomes stronger when many cooldown turns remain. Use active skills because they are needed, not simply because they are available. Passive healing is particularly valuable here.
Keep the rotation stable
Maintain Decrease ATK, refresh HP Burn, kill each Priest, cleanse Block Active Skills, and rebuild protection before the next Soul Burst. A slow stable clear is better than a fast failed run.
Two viable approaches
Cooldown control or high-survival sustain
Strategy A: Increase the boss’s cooldowns
Warlord, Yumeko, and Basher can delay the Eternal Dragon’s active skills. This reduces the frequency of Soul Burst and Spirit Rush and gives your team more time to heal and kill the minions.
- Build the cooldown controller with enough Accuracy for your stage.
- Still bring Decrease ATK and healing; cooldown control is not permanent.
- Do not confuse Increase Enemy Cooldown with Block Active Skills—the boss is immune to the latter.
Strategy B: Resist and survive
This is the more accessible approach. Stack HP, DEF, Speed, and enough Resistance on the champions responsible for cleansing or keeping the team alive. Combine passive healing with Decrease ATK and steady HP Burn damage.
- Jareg, Doompriest, Vrask, Vogoth, Scyl, and Brogni are strong survival options.
- Geomancer or Drexthar can carry most of the boss damage.
- A reviver gives extra safety, but the team must still handle the Priest cycle correctly.
Champion selection
Best champions for Eternal Dragon
The best pick is not always the champion with the highest damage. Build the team around five roles: Decrease ATK, cleansing or Resistance, passive healing, reliable boss damage, and either cooldown control or revival. You can compare additional options in the Inteleria Doom Tower ratings .
| Champion | Main role | Why the champion works |
|---|---|---|
| Geomancer | Damage / protection | HP Burn enables his passive damage reflection, while his passive also reduces damage received by allies. Do not rely on his Turn Meter depletion against this boss. |
| Drexthar Bloodtwin | HP Burn / durable damage | A tanky source of HP Burn who can continue contributing while built for survival. He is a strong alternative when Geomancer is unavailable. |
| Jareg | Decrease ATK / protection | Brings Decrease ATK on his A1, Ally Protection, Increase DEF, passive Continuous Heal, and an all-battles HP aura. |
| Doompriest | Passive cleanse / healing | Removes one debuff from every ally and heals at the start of her turn. Her passive continues to function when active skills are blocked. |
| Vrask | Passive healing | Heals the whole team whenever he lands a critical hit. Build him with 100% C.RATE, high HP, and enough Speed. |
| Vogoth | Damage-based passive healing | Returns part of the damage he receives as healing for the team. Place him late in the team order to improve the value of his passive against AoE hits. |
| Underpriest Brogni | Block Debuffs / shield / healing | Provides several layers of protection and can help prevent Block Active Skills when his protection is timed correctly. |
| Scyl of the Drakes | Healing / revive | Passive healing and a revive make progression teams more forgiving. Her crowd control is useful in the waves, although it does not control the boss. |
| Apothecary | Speed / single-target healing | An accessible option who helps the team cycle turns and keeps a vulnerable champion alive. |
| Yumeko , Warlord, Basher | Increase Enemy Cooldown | Delay the boss’s active skills. These champions need Accuracy and should be paired with a normal survival core. |
Team examples
Best Eternal Dragon teams
These teams are templates, not strict requirements. Replace a champion with another who performs the same role. The correct build matters more than copying five names without matching Speed, Accuracy, Resistance, HP, and DEF.
Jareg lead · Doompriest · Apothecary · Vrask · Geomancer
Jareg reduces incoming damage, Doompriest cleanses, Apothecary supplies Speed and emergency healing, Vrask delivers constant passive healing, and Geomancer supplies boss damage.
Warlord, Yumeko, or Basher · Jareg · Doompriest · Geomancer · Brogni, Vrask, or Scyl
The cooldown controller delays Soul Burst and Spirit Rush. The remaining slots still cover Decrease ATK, cleansing, healing, and damage in case the control effect is resisted or unavailable.
Jareg · Doompriest · Scyl of the Drakes · Geomancer or Drexthar · Apothecary or Vrask
Scyl provides passive healing and recovery from a single death. This composition is useful when your account has enough damage but occasionally loses a support champion during a heavy cooldown cycle.
Build priorities
Stats and gear for a reliable clear
Stats
- Speed: enough to cycle heals, passive cleanses, and Decrease ATK before the next boss turn.
- HP and DEF: build every support to survive repeated AoE attacks. Damage dealers also need defensive stats on Hard floors.
- Resistance: prioritize it on Doompriest, Brogni, your reviver, or whichever champion keeps the team functioning.
- Accuracy: required for Decrease ATK, HP Burn, and Increase Enemy Cooldown. Match it to the Resistance of the specific floor.
- C.RATE: Vrask needs 100% to trigger healing consistently.
Useful sets
- Perception or Accuracy: for debuffers and cooldown controllers.
- Resistance: for the cleanser, reviver, or primary support.
- Regeneration: for durable supports who need independent recovery.
- Guardian: to reduce pressure on weaker allies.
- Relentless: can increase passive healing turns, but only if the champion remains tanky enough.
- Lifesteal: useful for damage dealers who can heal through their own attacks.
For a broader comparison, see the Raid gear and artifact set tier list .
Do not copy a single universal Resistance or Accuracy number. Eternal Dragon appears on several Normal and Hard floors, and the required stats rise with the stage.
Troubleshooting
Common reasons Eternal Dragon teams fail
Ignoring the Priest
If the boss consumes the Eternal Priest, he resets his dangerous skills and gains another turn. Killing the Priest also gives your team the cooldown reset it needs.
Using too much AoE damage
The Eternal Guards reduce AoE damage taken by allies by 75%. Focused single-target damage removes the Priest and Guards more reliably.
No Decrease ATK
Healing alone may not keep up with Spirit Rush on Hard floors. A dependable A1 Decrease ATK champion can reduce the damage before active skills return.
Only active-skill healing
If every heal is locked by Soul Burst or Block Active Skills, the team collapses. Add passive healing, Resistance, or Block Debuffs.
Wrong control effects
Turn Meter reduction, Decrease SPD, Stun, Freeze, Provoke, Poison, and Heal Reduction do not solve this fight. Build around effects the boss does not ignore.
Full Auto without presets
Auto may waste protection on the waves or hit the boss while the Priest survives. Set skill priorities and confirm that target selection works before farming.
Why farm this boss
Eternal Dragon rewards
After the first clear, Eternal Dragon stages can be farmed with Silver Keys. The boss drops Dragon Bones used in the Forge to craft the Bloodthirst Artifact Set. Bloodthirst is a four-piece set that provides 12% C.RATE and heals the wearer by 30% of the damage dealt.
Whether it is worth farming depends on your account. If your immediate goal is to complete the rotation, prioritize a safe first-clear team. If you want Bloodthirst materials, improve the same composition until it can run consistently on Auto.
Frequently asked questions
Eternal Dragon FAQ
Who should I target first against Eternal Dragon?
Target the Eternal Priest first. Killing it resets your team’s skill cooldowns and prevents the boss from consuming it to reset his own skills and gain an Extra Turn. Then kill the Guards if your team has enough single-target damage.
Can Turn Meter reduction work on Eternal Dragon?
No. Eternal Dragon is immune to Turn Meter reduction and Decrease SPD. Increase Enemy Cooldown can work and is the relevant control mechanic for this fight.
Is Geomancer good for Eternal Dragon?
Yes. Geomancer is one of the strongest damage options because HP Burn enables his passive damage reflection, while his passive reduces damage received by allies. His Turn Meter depletion does not affect the boss.
Is Doompriest good for Eternal Dragon?
Yes. Doompriest heals and removes one debuff from every ally at the start of her turn. Because this comes from a passive, she can keep helping even when active skills are blocked.
Can I beat Eternal Dragon without Warlord or Yumeko?
Yes. A sustain team using Jareg, Doompriest, Vrask, Vogoth, Scyl, Brogni, Apothecary, Geomancer, or Drexthar can win without a premium cooldown controller.
Should I use Poison against Eternal Dragon?
No. The boss is immune to Poison. Use HP Burn, direct single-target damage, and Warmaster-style damage instead.
