Agreth the Nether Spider – Guide and Best Champions
HOW TO BEAT AGRETH
Basic strategy:
The key to killing Agreth the Nether Spider is mainly to avoid causing her Spiderlings to counterattack (which heals Agreth) while keeping yourself in good health (which requires healing and debuff cleansing). You can also remove the counterattacks on the spiderlings with buff removers to prevent the counterattacks from healing Agreath. Champions who bring a Shield are also very useful to keep you alive.
Decreasing Agreth’s Turn Meter causes her to counterattack, so while it’s viable to do this you also need to make sure to keep Champions who do this healed up. This makes Coldheart less ideal as she’s quite squishy (though still viable given the right stats and protection).
To ensure you’re dealing enough damage to Agreth (mainly to reduce the time the battle takes, but also to reduce your need for infinite survivability), it’s useful to bring in Champions with HP Burn (ideal) or Poison.
Note that since the Doom Tower boss’s affinities occasionally change, you may want to rotate Champions who are strong/weak affinity (keep this in mind also when looking at the team comps below).
Team compositions:
The team composition I use is as follows:
- Doompriest (lead): Doompriest offers a passive heal and debuff removal on every turn, and his leader aura also speeds up all Force Champions (which I take into account for the rest of the comp).
- Aox the Rememberer: Aox brings healing, debuff extension, Poison and Decrease ATK. Fantastic champ against Agreth.
- Drexthar Bloodtwin: Drexthar brings HP Burn to help damage Agreth. This is particularly useful as spiderlings will also have a chance to receive HP Burn when hitting Drexthar, which adds to the damage Agreth receives when they get a turn.
- Mausoleum Mage: Great debuff remover and protector with Increase DEF.
- Scyl of the Drakes: Clutch revive if sh!t happens, and healing every turn helps keep the team in good health. Note that the AI is clever enough not to use her AoE.
An alternate, more achievable comp (no Legendary Champs and no Void Epic or Lego):
- Doompriest (lead): Doompriest offers a passive heal and debuff removal on every turn, and his leader aura also speeds up all Force Champions (which I take into account for the rest of the comp).
- Vrask: Heals your team every time he hits.
- Reliquary Tender: Keeps you safe with debuff removal and clutch revives.
- Mausoleum Mage: Great debuff remover and protector with Increase DEF.
- Armiger: he’ll bring down Agreth’s Turn Meter and do damage based on Enemy MAX HP, helping you bring the Spider down.
Other notes:
- If you decide to go after the Spiderlings, just make sure you strip their counterattack buffs before attacking them, as every time they counterattack it heals Agreth.
AGRETH THE NETHER SPIDER SKILLS
- A1: Envenomed Strand [ATK]. Attacks all enemies. Places a 5% [Poison] debuff for 4 turns. Will repeat the attack 1 time for each Spiderling without any active buffs. The [Poison] debuffs cannot be resisted or blocked.
- A2: Brood Feast [ATK]. Spawns 4 spiderlings, then places a [Counterattack] buff on all Spiderlings for 3 turns. Will team up with all Spiderlings to attack all enemies if a Spiderling is spawned by this skill.
- Passive 1: Elder Lurker. Counterattacks when enemy decreases Agreth’s Turn Meter. The damage inflicted is equal to the amount of Turn Meter lost. Will ignore 100% of DEF.
- Passive 2: Tide of Toxins. Attacks all enemies at start of each turn. Deals damage from all [Poison] debuffs on each enemy instantly. When attacked by an enemy under a [Poison] debuff, increases the duration of all debuffs on the attacker by 1 turn, then places a 25% [Poison Sensitivity] debuff on them for 3 turns. When attacked by an enemy that has no [Poison] debuff, places a 5% [Poison] debuff on the attacker for 4 turns. This debuff cannot be blocked or resisted.
- Passive 3: Almighty Immunity. Immune to [Stun], [Freeze], [Sleep], [Provoke], [Block Cooldown Skills], [Fear] and [True Fear] debuffs. Also immune to HP exchange effects, HP balancing effects and cooldown increasing effects.
- Passive 4: Almighty Strength. Damage from skills that scale based on enemy MAX HP cannot exceed 10% of the boss’ MAX HP when attacking the boss.
- Passive 5: Almighty Persistence. All Turn Meter reduction effects are reduced by 50% when used against the Boss.
- Spiderlings [4 minions]. Attacks all enemies. Places a 5% [Poison] debuff for 2 turns. Cannot be resisted or blocked. Heals Agreth by 10% each time spiderling counterattacks. Places [Ally Protect] on Agreth whenever [Counterattack] is removed or expires. [Ally Protect] cannot be removed.
